Masai Mara/ Lake Nakuru/ Amboseli – the names alone are exotic with the promise of great adventure. But few ever get to step upon these ancient plains, home to countless and varied wildlife. However, you can on this 6-day excursion to Kenya’s greatest parks.

The Masai Mara thrills with its limitless wildlife, especially during the Great Migration – millions of streaming animals cascade into the park.

Due to some progressive natural factors, the flamingo numbers have been reducing but the park itself remains stunning – one of Kenya’s finest. Great rocky escarpments tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills, and euphorbia trees dot the lake.

The few quantity of flamingos is accompanied by other birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks as well as herons and eagles. The scene here is bountiful, busy, and full of color. But that’s only the beginning of what this special park has to offer because the wildlife viewing here is easy and accessible. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhinos, especially along the lakeshore.

The park is also a sanctuary for one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhinos.

And since the number of elephants at Amboseli Park is beyond counting, it’s said to be the best spot in the world to witness these majestic herds. We’ll take you to all three parks to view as you please. Should you have any preference, just let us know and we’ll work hard to make it happen.

Note: If you prefer instead, you can continue your journey from Amboseli to Mombasa by safari vehicle.

Day 1 :

Collection - Nairobi – Masai Mara game reserve (265 km – Approx. 5-6 hrs) Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner We’ll begin our adventure with a 7:30 am pickup from your hotel or from the airport. Your Hidden Treasure Africa Safaris driver/guide will be your host, escort and wildlife expert for the next 6 days, telling you secrets about the land and filling in all the details of the world of animals you’re going to meet. Safari - Proceed to the Masai Mara game reserve -Kenya’s and Africa’s finest wildlife reserve. The drive to the Mara is via Kenya rural settings that contrast dramatically as you progress towards the Great rift valley escarpment. Most of the drive shall be at the floor of the great rift valley and through Masai country. During the afternoon, explore the Masai Mara on your first game viewing drive of safari. Overnight - Overnight at your Masai Mara safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 2 :

Safari - Masai Mara Game Reserve – full day Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner We’ll arrive at the Mara with plenty of time for game drives today. This reserve is vast but supports an intense concentration of wildlife. You’re sure to see plenty of predators and grazers playing out their life cycles on a great savannah dotted with distinctive acacia trees. If you should be at the park during the time of the great migration (July – October) prepare to take in the greatest display of advancing animals – wildebeests and zebra – on the planet. The wildlife arrives in its yearly cycle, and their numbers are breathtaking. We’ll visit the Mara River at the point of this crossing, where crocodiles await and immense hippos forage. And, we’ll be tracking other wildlife over the immense plains of the park – lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, rhino and gazelle. We offer several optional excursions to add more value and memories to your safari adventure here. Speak to your guide about taking a hot air balloon safari. You’ve never experienced anything like rising with the dawn over the African countryside to the sight of an endless procession of marching wildebeests. Then for a more up close and personal safari experience, pay a visit to one of the local Maasai groups. At their local village, you’ll get to see their lifestyle, culture and handicrafts. Day 3 :

Safari - Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru (290 km – Approx. 6-7 Hrs) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner We’re next off to Lake Nakuru but on the way, we’ll make stops to eat, stretch our legs and admire some of the more scenic spots we come upon. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered but beautiful species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, especially along the lakeshore. You’ll also find the Rothschild’s giraffe nibbling amongst the treetops plus many rhinos. The rhino sanctuary here holds one of Kenya’s largest herd of endangered black and white rhinos. We’ll spend the night here and then rise for an early morning game drive and bird watching. Overnight - Overnight at your lake Nakuru safari lodge / tented camp. What you may see at Lake Nakuru national park ……. Day 4 :

Safari | Overnight

Safari - Lake Nakuru – Amboseli national park (410Km – Appr.7-8 hours) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Early morning exit game viewing drives at Lake Nakuru as you exit the park. A long and easy drive to the Amboseli national park. We may even see views of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak – weather permitting. On the way to Amboseli, we’ll be passing the towering escarpments of the Rift Valley and make stops along the way to admire these imposing formations. Arriving at Amboseli in the afternoon, we’ll take a short game drive before dinner. Overnight - Overnight at your Amboseli national park safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 5 :

Safari - Amboseli Full Day Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner We’ll be looking for the many herds of large tusked elephants marching through the park returning from their watering holes. You’re sure to see the great mass of Mount Kilimanjaro rising to the south. This is also a good time of the day for the cloud cover to disperse revealing the mountain’s famous snow-capped peak. We’ll get up early for one last game drive. Besides the ever-present elephants, keep an eye out for zebra, buffalo and gazelle. Overnight - Overnight at your Amboseli national park safari lodge or tented camp. What you may see at the Amboseli national park ……. Elephant Cheetah, Wild dog, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik-dik, Lesser Kudu and nocturnal porcupine etc

Day 6 :

Safari | Drop Off

Safari - Amboseli – Emali (Approx. 100Kms – 1 hr)Train to Mombasa-4 hours Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch Mombasa and the Coast As we exit the park on the way to the train station at Emali, you’ll be seeing your last views of Amboseli. However, on your upcoming train journey, you’ll be passing through both Tsavo West and Tsavo East for more park vistas and possibly wildlife viewing. Your driver/guide will bring you to the train station at Emali. There, he’ll assist you with tickets and transfer to the Madaraka Express, the new high-speed train to Mombasa and the coast. Drop Off - Your first-class ticket is included with the tour, so enjoy the comfort of your air-conditioned compartment and reclining seat. The train’s route is positioned higher than the roadway and offers an elevated view of the parks. And with its large windows you’ll enjoy wonderful vistas of the passing landscapes. There’s also a buffet car for drinks and snacks, and clean restrooms for your convenience. In about 4 ½ hours, you’ll arrive at the state-of-the-art train station in Mombasa. Transfer to your hotel or resort is also included – we’ll pick you up and bring you to your local hotel or resort in Malindi, Watamu, Diani, Mombasa and Kilifi beach. Train schedule Approximately 9:15am arrive at the Emali train station. 09:31am: Depart for Mombasa on the Madaraka Express Train with its elevated country views through Tsavo West & Tsavo East national parks. 14:00pm: Arrive Mombasa train station where you shall be met by your transfer vehicle and driver. Transfer to your beach hotel in Mombasa, Tiwi, Diani, Kilifi, Watamu or Malindi. Arrival at your beach resort between 4.30PM -6 PM)
