These three parks have it all – lions, elephants, leopards, giraffes, rhinos… all waiting for you on savannahs, rolling hills, in acacia forest, and at cooling springs. The Tsavo Parks are legendary for their size and their fascinating stories. Amboseli Park is one-of-a-kind, sitting at the foot of mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro, home to innumerable herds of elephants. In just four days, this medium-length safari will introduce you to Africa’s greatest wildlife.

Four days will give us time to explore the land, the animals, and the culture of these wild preserves. The pace will be relaxed but you’re sure to feel your pulse quicken at your first sighting of the larger wildlife on the scenic plains of Tsavo West National Park. It’s a thrill to see a lion or rhino suddenly emerge from the bush or a herd of elephants parade before you at Amboseli National Park.

Tsavo East is vast, and you’ll be tracking Africa’s big game on these rugged plains. The watering holes here are active with wildlife. All-Inclusive. Your 4-Day Tsavo West/Amboseli/Tsavo East safari includes park entrance fees, game drives, accommodations, and meals. Natural World Kenya Safaris always offers a wide choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort, or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

Your Guide. For your 4-day journey, you’ll be guided, hosted, and looked after by your experienced driver/guide.

Transportation between parks and game viewing will be in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – this vehicle is the safari standard with its higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive.

Day 1 :

The safari begins with a pick-up at your beach hotel or resort. We’ll take the scenic Mombasa – Nairobi Highway, viewing farmlands and Kenya countryside along the way.

The journey includes several stops to stretch and get refreshments.

Safari - You’ll enjoy the landscape of Tsavo West almost as much as the wildlife. Here you’ll go on game drives over rolling hills and grassy savannah, passing volcanic lava beds and rich oases. Besides the big game, look for the smaller treasures like bushbaby, lesser kudu and dik-dik.

After lunch, we’ll journey over to a special site in the park – the 90 sq. km rhino sanctuary. This protected enclosure holds over 80 of the endangered, nocturnal creatures. If we’re lucky, we’ll spot one of the immense but shy rhinos.

Overnight - Our safari evening will be spent here at your choice of safari lodge or tented camp.

Day 2 :

Safari - Day Two

TSAVO WEST – AMBOSELI (100 km – Approx. 2 hrs.)
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll be up early to explore two national parks today!

One of the gems of Tsavo West is a spring-fed oasis called Mzima Springs. Mzima means “life” in Swahili, and here we will find many forms of life at these nourishing waters – hippo, crocodile, exotic fish and birds.

We’ll explore the shaded banks of the springs on foot and take in other wildlife like zebra and giraffe that are drawn here.

Our final game drive will bring us to the park’s borders and a relatively short trip to Amboseli Park to the south.

You may be able to track your journey to the park as the great form of Mt. Kilimanjaro appears on the horizon. This largest peak in Africa is the grand backdrop to Amboseli and presents a majestic presence, framing the reserve’s wildlife. So be sure to have your camera ready.

We will have a relaxed afternoon watching for the wildlife. The park’s small size and sparse foliage will make game spotting easier. But it will be impossible to miss the immense elephants here. Amboseli is known to be the best spot in Africa to see free-ranging herds marching before you with their proudly held tusks.

Toward evening, the cloud cover masking Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak may drift away revealing one of Africa’s greatest treasures.

Overnight - Tonight, you’ll stay in the park at the accommodation of your choice.

Day 3 :

Safari | Overnight

Safari - AMBOSELI – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK (260 km – Approx. 4hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll rise with the dawn for a pre-breakfast game drive and perhaps a clear view of Kilimanjaro’s white-capped summit.

A hearty safari breakfast follows to fortify us for the day ahead. On our final game drive as we depart the park, we’ll be looking for lion, cheetah and hyena… and we’ll bid farewell to the elephants of Amboseli.

Now we’re back on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway as we make tracks to Tsavo East National Park, Kenya’s largest.

Here at Tsavo, the terrain is rugged and sparse, but that only makes the game viewing more accessible. We’ll be looking for the big hunters and grazers, especially the “red-dust” elephants. The giant beasts here like to roll in the red oxide soil, giving themselves a hearty coating of the rusty colour.

We will have a relaxing afternoon, tracking the many species of the park, including over 500 types of birds.

It’s been a busy day and as the sunset approaches, we’ll freshen up for dinner and the evening ahead.

Overnight - We’ll settle in for our final safari night at your choice of accommodation.

Day 4 :

Safari | Drop Off

Safari - Day 4: TSAVO EAST – MOMBASA (180 km – Approx. 3 hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

We’ll get up… early! There’s so much to see here at Tsavo. After appreciating the wildlife as it emerges into the light, we’ll head back for breakfast.

During our stay at Tsavo East, we’ll visit some of its famous watering holes like Mudanda Rock and Aruba Dam, where a multitude of wildlife seek the life-sustaining waters. Don’t be surprised to find every sort of species sharing this communal space.

But soon it is time to head back to Mombasa and the Kenya coast.

Drop Off - Our drive back to the coast will easy and relaxed. We’ll stop at an open-air restaurant with great vistas of the Tsavo East plains, our final view of the area.

We should arrive back at the coast in the late afternoon or early evening and will bring you right up to the door of your resort or hotel.
