Coming from the beach, you’ll appreciate this comfortable, easy-paced safari exploring three of Kenya’s premier parks. Tsavo West National Park is big with an awesome variety of landforms and wildlife. Amongst the sprawling plains, natural springs, and volcanic remnants you’ll be scouting for lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, hippos, buffalo, and many other animals.
In contrast, Amboseli National Park is smaller, but that just makes game spotting easier. Framed by majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, the park is said to be unequaled for watching elephant herds in the wild.
The largest animal reserve in Kenya, Tsavo East National Park has its rugged appeal. There are about 700 lions in this park along with Cape buffalo, African wildcat, cheetah, dik-dik, hartebeest, rhino, zebra, and many other hunters and grazers.
From your Diani Beach or south coast resort, you’ll begin your 4-day safari in the comfort of a Hidden Treasure Africa Safaris customized safari minivan, traveling smoothly along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway. With plenty of stops for refreshment and views, you should be in Tsavo West Park in time for lunch. Then the great and varied plains of Tsavo await you for an afternoon of game viewing. You’ll settle into your safari lodge or tented camp here in the park for the evening.
Day 2 Tsavo West – Amboseli
We’re up early, treading softly into the awakening day for fresh views of the wildlife. Then we settle at Mzima Springs and go on foot to peek up close at the hippos, crocodiles, fish, and birds in this crystal-clear watering hole. We’ll have a final game drive as we exit the park on our way to Amboseli.
It’s a short drive to our next destination. We’ll spend the afternoon on a relaxed game drive, taking in the abundance of Amboseli Park and spotting elephants and many other wild games. In the distance, we gaze upon the highest peak in Africa… Kilimanjaro.
If the weather conditions are right, you will be treated to the majestic sight of the mountain’s snow-capped peak – a perfect Africa moment.
If you wish, your driver/guide can arrange an optional visit to a Maasai Village to meet its people and learn about their ancient culture.
Dinner and lodging will be in the park.
Day 3 Amboseli – Tsavo East
We’ll be up early to greet the African sunrise! The park is heavy with wildlife so we should partake in the viewing before a relaxing breakfast. Then as we exit the park there will be time for another game drive as we head out for Tsavo East.
We’ll jump back on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway and arrive in Tsavo in time for a relaxing afternoon game drive. Your friendly and always helpful driver/guide will share his thoughts on the park, its wildlife, and the richness of nature. Tonight, your lodging is in Tsavo East.
Day 4 Tsavo East – Diani Beach
It’s another early morning for you and the wildlife… everyone’s thinking about breakfast!
Today you’ll explore the immense rolling savannah of Tsavo East on relaxed game drives. Be on the lookout for the famous Tsavo lions and a multitude of other game like leopard, cheetah, buffalo, gazelle, giraffe, hyena, and more.
